Deshkar is a late morning raga, which uses the same notes as that of Bhoop. Its phrases are different from Bhoopali and hence evokes a different emotion. It omits and . This is a raga. Most of its alaps/taans end on middle octave . The lower octave is hardly used. The use of is also limited to avoid the feel of Bhoopali. The middle octave is very prominent in this raga.
