Bhoop, also referred to as Bhoopali, is a popular and simple raga (thus popular as one of the initial ragas to learn). It is a raga with serious nature. Bhoop omits and notes and all other notes are . It is better suited for classical presentations than semi-classical. Though it looks simple in its structure, it is always challenging to present Bhoop perfectly without the shades of Deshkar and Shuddha Kalyan, which are very closely related.
