Kalingda is one of the morning raga. This has all the seven notes both in and with and being . Though this raga has the same notes as that of Bhairav, it differs by having different and , phrases and resting notes. In addition, Kalingda has no on and , and more prominence of , which makes it distinctly different from Bhairav. Chota khayal and bhajans are more common in this raga due to its nature.
